The latest track from Kings Elliot is a deeply personal journey. Built almost exclusively around hazy piano chords, much of the track allows a moving vocal line to take centre stage. The chorus gives more room for expansion, with cinematic synths and airy backing vocals delivering an ethereal hook. ‘Dancing Alone’ is filled with feeling in its lyrics alone, but the singer-songwriter cleverly sets the track in a waltz-like metre that keeps the listener thinking about the titular dance.
